Porter Mill Station Sauvignon Blanc - South Africa
| In a country where distances are vast, the early settlers relied on the railroads for contact with the outside world. The farming folk of one particular dorp some 140km north of Cape Town were no different. Putting down their roots in 1863, they slowly built their future on wheat nurtured by the fertile land and winter rains. Steam trains transported their golden crop to the ever growing city, returning with the goods their toil had bought them. |

| Today, the raw and rugged range with its many secret waterfalls stands unchanged .... but steam trains have since been replaced with highways and fields of wheat replaced by vineyards. Yet the town folk still revere the old railway station and legendary mill, hankering after times when a shrill whistle reminded them tha the harvest had been bountiful. When distances are vast, shared memories and a reverence for heritage forge powerful bonds within such tight knit communities. Porter Mill Station pays homage to this land's early settlers and invites you to raise a glass to it's future. |
