Isabel Sauvignon Blanc 2006 - Marlborough, New Zealand
| Isabel Estate is nestled into the heart
of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, situated at the top of the South
Island of New Zealand. Marlborough is New Zealand's largest and most
successful wine producing area renowned for the production of
exuberantly fruity Sauvignon Blanc and intensely aromatic wines. Isabel Estate aims to produce true "estate" wines - wines produced only from vineyards under its total viticultural control. Isabel Estate endeavours to produce "inspired wines that are a strong expression of the individual style and character as determined by the vineyard soil and site". |

| Grapes were selected from Estate Vineyards in Marlborough, Each unique site has a tight calcium-rich clay layer within the stony subsoils imparting low vigour characteristics to the low yielding, closely planted vines. This combined with extended, brilliantly sunny, cool autumns has produced a true Estate Wine of finesse and character. | ||
| Everything is happening on the nose here with tropical aromas exploding - like you have crashed your motorcycle into a tropical island fruit stall...! The mid palate is rich and luscious with layered complexity. It offers a viscous persistent finish with the 'classic' Isabel vineyard limestone minerality. A wine that 'feels' like pure indulgence - delicious in its youth, yet undeniably age-worthy. |
