'I wonder what Grandpa, George Hill, would have said were he here today?  Could he have possibly understood the wizardry of the internet?  I am told that he was very much an innovator, as was my father, Eddie Hill.  Well, here we are nearly 100 on and still up with the best of them!

Wine has been a large part of my life for over 30 years and whilst I continue to learn, so I strive to make it accessible to all who want to know and be beguiled by it.  This I hope you will recognise as you get to know us better.  This website is but a tiny corner of us, something we hope will make you fall into our trap and be captured forever by the wonderful world of wine.

ANDREW HILL

Andrew is the Grandson of the Founder, and is the Managing Director of George Hill Ltd.  As well as being the primary buyer, Andrew also creates Wine Lists for our Trade customers and is on hand to give advice and guidance to customers in the shop.

GILLIAN LEESON

Gillian is a Great Granddaughter of the Founder and daughter of Caroline (Andrew's late Sister), she joined George Hill in 1989.  Gillian runs the purchase ledger and other 'day to day' accounting.  She designs the Website and most of the artwork for both the Company and on behalf of Customers, She also creates many of the bespoke gift packages available.

LEE COSTELOW

Lee joined the Company in 1989 and is the Shop Manager.  As well as overseeing the shop, Lee looks after the warehouses, gets customers orders ready and dresses the shop window with much flair!

SUSAN LAW

Susan is also a Great Granddaughter of the Founder and Gillian's sister.  She joined the team as the Office Administrator in May 2003.  The sales ledger fills much of Sue's day, but she can also be found creating gift packages, and giving a hand in the Shop amongst many other things. 

RICHARD COLES

Richard, who is Gillian and Susan's Brother In Law, joined the team part time in December 2007, becoming full time in January 2008.  He is to become our main trade sales driving force to give Andrew time to concentrate in other areas, but he's bound to be in and around the Shop regularly.  He has recently gained a distinction in his W&S Intermediate Certificate and will soon be going on to the next level!

Terry has been delivering all your orders since May 1999.  He can often be found ensconced in the warehouse sorting out cardboard boxes, or clearing the yard of the multitude of leaves that constantly seem to line the floor!
